Gale Watch

URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
823 PM CST Fri Feb 22 2019

...MAJOR STORM SYSTEM EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND...

.A powerful low pressure system will track from the Southern
Plains Saturday afternoon to northern Lake Michigan by early
Sunday morning. East to southeast winds will increase rapidly
Saturday afternoon as the low approaches. Winds will veer to the
southwest and reach gales late Saturday night. Winds will
continue to veer to the west on Sunday, with a period of storm
force winds looking increasingly likely during the day Sunday over
the south half of the lake. It is possible that the Gale Watch
may eventually be upgraded to a Storm Warning for part of the day
Sunday over the south half.

Northwest gales are then expected Sunday night, then winds will
steadily diminish on Monday as the storm pushes off to the
northeast.
