...Thunderstorms Across the Interior and West Coast Today...

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

Rip currents: There is a slight risk of rip currents along the
Atlantic beaches of South Florida today.

Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are possible
today, mainly over the interior and Southwest Florida this
afternoon. The primary impacts will be lightning strikes,heavy
downpours, and brief gusty winds.

Waterspouts:Waterspouts this morning are possible over the Atlantic
waters. Afternoon and evening waterspouts are possible over Lake
Okeechobee and the Gulf waters, particularly around thunderstorms and
boundary collisions.

Temperature: Heat index values will reach 100 to 105 degrees across
much of South Florida today. Heat index values over some west
interior areas and the Gulf coast could reach 105 to 108 degrees this
afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will favor the interior and Gulf
Coast areas into early next week. Primary concerns will be
lightning strikes, gusty winds, and brief periods of heavy rain.
