Overall a quiet day or two coming up for the U.S. lower 48. A system will pass through the South and northern Gulf Coast region for some rain and a few thunderstorms, perhaps some light snow on the northern periphery from the Mid Mississippi Valley into the western Ohio Valley. Another system will sweep through the Northwest to the northern Rockies with some shower activity and mountain snow.

This will bring another round of gale force wind gusts through early Wednesday afternoon. Another warm front moves across the waters Thursday, but the strongest wind will be over the Washington waters. The active pattern continues through the weekend. A strong cold front is expected to impact the waters Saturday.
