Strong Storm System To Impact The West

A large, strong and moist Pacific storm system will impact a good portion of the West on Friday through the upcoming weekend. Heavy rain, strong winds, heavy mountain snow and rough surf can be expected. The heavy rain may result in some flash flooding on Friday and Saturday across northern portions of California and southwestern Oregon, especially near recent burn scar areas.

Fri: E wind 5 to 15 kt becoming SE 10 to 20 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft. A slight chance of showers in the morning then a chance of showers in the afternoon.

Fri Night: SE wind 10 to 20 kt rising to 15 to 25 kt after midnight. Wind waves 2 to 4 ft. Rain likely.

Sat: SE wind 5 to 15 kt. Wind waves 2 ft or less.

Sat Night: Light wind becoming N to 10 kt after midnight. Wind waves less than 1 ft becoming 1 ft or less after midnight.
