Strong Storm System To Impact The West
A large, strong and moist Pacific storm system will impact a good portion of the West on Friday through the upcoming weekend. Heavy rain, strong winds, heavy mountain snow and rough surf can be expected. The heavy rain may result in some flash flooding on Friday and Saturday across northern portions of California and southwestern Oregon, especially near recent burn scar areas.

Friday: Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest 15 to 20 knots. A chance of rain showers in the morning, then a chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally around 6 feet. A small craft advisory will be needed.
Friday Night: Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots diminishing to 5 to 15 knots. A chance of snow showers in the evening. Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet. Waves occasionally around 6 feet.
Saturday: Northwest winds 10 knots or less becoming south. Partly sunny. Waves 2 feet or less. see lake erie open lakes forecast for sunday through tuesday. the water temperature off toledo is 40 degrees, off cleveland 43 degrees, and off erie 43 degrees.
