Unsettled Weather Continues in the Northwest; Ice & Snow to Develop Across Parts of the Central U.S.

Unsettled weather will persist across the western U.S. during the next few days with locally heavy coastal rain and mountain snow for much of the Pacific Northwest. Another weather system will affect parts of the Southwest and central United States with snow and mixed precipitation developing from Oklahoma northeastward into the Great Lakes.

Synopsis: Surface high pressure will move off to the east coast by Wednesday with surface low pressure developing on late Wednesday over Texas. This will allow modest to strong onshore flow to develop on Wednesday and continue into Thursday. An upper level disturbance will also allow for an increase in showers and thunderstorms during Wednesday and Wednesday night, with the activity decreasing from west to east on Thursday afternoon.
