Strong to severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding will remain possible across portions of Texas through Wednesday night. Rain and thunderstorms will then advance along the Gulf Coast and into parts of the Southeast on Thursday. Meanwhile, much of the country will see above average high temperatures, especially over the Desert Southwest, where records are possible.

Synopsis: An expansive area of high pressure over the Gulf Coast and the western Atlantic will slowly settle south over the next couple of days. This high pressure cell will retreat into the western Atlantic Friday, meanwhile, a low pressure system will gradually develop over the Gulf Coast. A trough associated with this low pressure system will migrate eastward through our region Friday night and Saturday, before dissipating by Sunday or Monday.
