Significant Storm Bringing Widespread Winter Weather and Heavy Rainfall Across the Eastern Half of the Country

A storm system moving into the Eastern parts of the country is bringing heavy snow across the Great Lakes and into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today. There is also the potential for significant ice accumulations across the northern Mid-Atlantic. To the south, heavy rainfall is producing flash flooding, and river flooding, from the Ohio and Mississippi Valleys to the Deep South.

Thu: W winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt early in the morning, then 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of 8 seconds. rain likely early in the morning.

Thu Night: NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt in the late evening and overnight. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of 8 seconds.
