Unsettled Weather Continues in the Northwest; Ice & Snow to Develop Across Parts of the Central U.S.

Unsettled weather will persist across the western U.S. during the next few days with locally heavy coastal rain and mountain snow for much of the Pacific Northwest. Another weather system will affect parts of the Southwest and central United States with snow and mixed precipitation developing from Oklahoma northeastward into the Great Lakes.

Tonight: North northwest winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 35 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet along the coast and 8 to 10 feet with occasional to 13 feet in the gulf stream. Period 8 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop.

Wednesday: Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 30 knots along the coast to north northwest 15 to 25 knots with gusts to around 35 knots in the gulf stream. Along the coast, seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet building to 6 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet in the afternoon. In the gulf stream, seas 9 to 11 feet with occasional seas to 14 feet building to 11 to 13 feet with occasional seas to 17 feet in the afternoon. Period 9 seconds. North northeast swell 3 to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of showers in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: North northeast winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 25 knots along the coast to north northeast 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 30 knots in the gulf stream. Seas 7 to 9 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet along the coast and 12 to 14 feet with occasional to 18 feet in the gulf stream. Period 11 seconds. North swell 5 feet after midnight. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Chance of showers in the evening, then slight chance of showers after midnight.

Thursday: East northeast winds 10 to 15 knots along the coast to east northeast 10 to 20 knots in the gulf stream. Along the coast, seas 7 to 9 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet. In the gulf stream, seas 9 to 11 feet with occasional seas to 14 feet subsiding to 6 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet in the afternoon. Period 11 seconds. North northeast swell 3 to 7 feet becoming 5 feet in the afternoon. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Slight chance of showers.

Thursday Night: East winds 5 to 15 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet after midnight. North northeast swell 4 feet increasing to around 3 feet after midnight. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of showers.

Friday: South southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers.

Friday Night: West southwest winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers.

Saturday: West winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers.
