Showers and Thunderstorms from Northeast Texas into the Ohio Valley; Rain and Snow Return to the West Coast

Low pressure will track into the Tennessee Valley overnight with showers and thunderstorms from northeast Texas to the Ohio Valley. Isolated severe thunderstorms are expected from northeast Texas to southwest Illinois. Several Pacific storms will batter much of the West Coast through the coming week. Heavy rain is possible in lower terrain with snow for the mountains.

Tonight: Southeast winds around 10 knots becoming west southwest after midnight. Seas around 2 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers.

Tuesday: North northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Period 3 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop.

Tuesday Night: Along the coast, north northwest winds 5 to 10 knots. In the gulf stream, north northeast winds around 10 knots becoming northwest after midnight. Seas around 2 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Chance of showers.

Wednesday: North northwest winds 10 to 20 knots becoming north 20 to 25 knots in the evening. Along the coast, seas 2 to 3 feet building to 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet in the afternoon. In the gulf stream, seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet building to 8 to 10 feet with occasional seas to 13 feet in the afternoon. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: North winds 20 to 25 knots along the coast to north around 25 knots in the gulf stream. Along the coast, seas 7 to 9 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet building to 9 to 11 feet with occasional seas to 14 feet after midnight. In the gulf stream, seas 12 to 14 feet with occasional seas to 18 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Chance of showers.

Thursday: North northeast winds around 25 knots. Seas 9 to 11 feet with occasional seas to 14 feet along the coast and 11 to 13 feet with occasional to 17 feet in the gulf stream. Intracoastal waters rough in exposed areas. Chance of showers.

Thursday Night: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots along the coast to northeast 20 to 25 knots in the gulf stream. Seas 9 to 11 feet with occasional seas to 14 feet subsiding to 7 to 9 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet after midnight. Intracoastal waters rough in exposed areas. Slight chance of showers.

Friday: East northeast winds around 15 knots along the coast to east northeast 15 to 20 knots in the gulf stream. Seas 6 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet. North northeast swell 4 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas.
