Stormy and Rainy in the East; Hot in the West

A cold front will combine with Bertha remnants to produce strong to severe storms with damaging winds, large hail, potential for a tornado, and locally heavy rain. Excessive heat continues in the Desert Southwest and spreads into the Great Basin. Critical fire weather threats also continue in the Great Basin with dry thunderstorms in the Four Corners region.

Saturday: Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: South southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers after midnight.

Sunday: Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas less than 2 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers in the morning, then chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: South southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas less than 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers.

Monday: East northeast winds 5 to 15 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Chance of showers . Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Monday Night: East northeast winds 10 to 15 knots along the coast to east northeast 10 to 20 knots in the gulf stream. Along the coast, seas 2 to 3 feet. In the gulf stream, seas 2 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet after midnight. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday Through Wednesday: East winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.
