A low pressure system may produce strong to severe thunderstorms to portions of the northern Great Basin and northern Rockies. The primary threat will be damaging winds and hail. Strong winds from this system will produce elevated fire weather threats across the Great Basin, including potential for dry thunderstorms across portions of eastern Washington and Oregon, and New Mexico.

Synopsis: High pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will support tranquil boating conditions with north to northeast winds around 10 knots today with an onshore sea breeze component developing along the coast during the afternoon. A trough of low pressure will move across south Florida on Thursday which will increase rain chances through Friday with winds becoming easterly. The trough will push west into the Gulf on Friday with high pressure building to the northeast of Florida maintaining an easterly wind flow across the waters. Scattered showers and storms will develop over the peninsula each day during the afternoon with the easterly flow pushing the storms west to the coastal waters during the late afternoon and evening hours Higher winds and seas will be possible near thunderstorms, otherwise no headlines are expected.
