...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM EDT FRIDAY THROUGH
Synopsis: Winds and seas will increase tonight and Friday as a cold front
over the central Gulf of Mexico moves east through the coastal
waters. Sustained winds of 20-25 knots with gusts approaching gale
force and seas of 7-10 feet will trigger a Small Craft Advisory that
will be in effect through Saturday evening. In addition, a band of
strong thunderstorms will move west through the waters on Friday
ahead of the frontal passage, triggering locally higher wind gusts,
poor visibility, and frequent lightning strikes. Conditions are
forecast to improve early Sunday into next week as high pressure
builds in over the area from the west.
S wind 12 to 14 kt, with gusts as high as 23 kt. A slight chance of showers between 3am and 4am. Seas 1 to 2 ft.
S wind 17 to 23 kt, with gusts as high as 34 kt. Showers and thunderstorms before 4pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 4pm and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Seas 2 to 4 ft.
W wind 14 to 17 kt, with gusts as high as 24 kt. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Seas around 4 ft.
W wind 15 to 17 kt. Mostly sunny. Seas around 4 ft.
NW wind 9 to 12 kt, with gusts as high as 18 kt. Partly cloudy. Seas around 3 ft.
N wind 5 to 7 kt. Sunny. Seas around 2 ft.
N wind 5 to 7 kt becoming NE after midnight. Clear. Seas 1 to 2 ft.
E wind 5 to 7 kt. Sunny. Seas around 1 ft.
NNE wind around 9 kt becoming E after midnight. Mostly clear. Seas around 1 ft.
